Happy Friday, Westsiders.

After a decade of direct flights, uncomfortable seats, and $75 checked bags, Spirit Airlines is going on spring break… and not coming back.

Here at The Buzz, no matter how badly we want to get out of Cleveland sometimes, we already come back.

Today, we're buzzing on:

  • A new Cafe with killer sandwiches

  • A star is born

  • Bedrock is building a new music venue

Have a great weekend,

A Fresh Start in Bay

This beautifully reimagined brick Colonial in Bay Village proves second chances can be stunning.

Rebuilt to the studs after a fire, 24011 Bruce Road has been completely transformed with high-end finishes and thoughtful design throughout.

Here’s what stands out:

  • Open-concept kitchen with a massive island (the “everyone hangs out here” kind of island)

  • All new appliances and thoughtful finishes

  • Warm wood floors and natural light throughout

  • A primary, secluded suite upstairs

  • Flexible first-floor bedrooms for guests, kids, or a home office

Downstairs, there’s a partially finished basement for extra living space and plenty of storage.

Outside? Turf landscaping and a fenced patio mean no mowing, low-maintenance living. Fresh front landscaping gives it that polished curb appeal.

Original charm retained — fully renewed for today.

Pastimes Might Become Your Go-To 📍 Lakewood

Jodie here.

It was sad saying goodbye to the iconic Mexican spot El Tango in Lakewood. But much like the never going to get here quickly approaching spring season, what comes along after a closing can sometimes surprise you.

This week, I stopped into Pastimes Cafe and made a bold proclamation on our Instagram story. It read: “I have officially decided that Pastimes Cafe has my favorite breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had in Lakewood — and it’s easily top 3 in Cleveland”

You could say it changed my life.

The staff? The sweetest, nicest people. Approachable. Helpful. They make their sausage in-house. (That’s a nice touch) Plus, they feature Goodkind Coffee and Cleveland Bagels.

The natural lighting creates a vibrant yet relaxing atmosphere. And most importantly — ample outlets! There's nothing worse than having to string your charger over a dude with a mustache just to get some juice.

Finally, their menu is vast, but not quite Cheesecake factory long. One thing on the menu we are definitely planning to try is the Golden Hour, which looks to be a breakfast sammy made with two Oat Pancakes, melted sharp cheddar, double bacon, and syrup.

Adopt

I’ll Make You Pet (Me)

Thanks to a great Samaritan, Schnoogs, the 6 year old distinguished gentleman was able to shake off a head wound and is now available for adoption at the Cleveland APL.

The cat known as Tim Meowsny suffered an injury out on the mean streets, but all’s well that ends well as he now has permanent “born to be on a billboard face”.

Live Music News

Bedrock ‘n Roll 📍 Downtown

Rendering Courtesy Bedrock

The Cuyahoga River is about to get louder than my outfit for St. Patrick’s Day.

Bedrock and Rock Entertainment Group announced plans for a 6,200-seat outdoor amphitheater along the Cuyahoga River, teaming up with “Big Ticket” (Live Nation) to bring a new large-scale music venue downtown. If built, it would be the city’s first new major concert venue in more than 20 years.

Bedrock has quietly assembled the land just south of the Cavs facility over the past two years.

Here’s what we know:

  • Capacity: 6,200 seats—bigger than Jacobs Pavilion (5,000)

  • Operator: Live Nation, aiming to attract larger touring acts.

  • Opening target: Potentially 2028, if construction starts this year.

  • Economic pitch: Nearly $59 million in projected annual impact.

Zoom out: Downtown is changing their its from shopping and retail to exciting experiences.

Mutt Madness

If you are a long-time member of Buzz Nation, you probably remember the 2025 Mutt Madness tournament.

Mutt Madness is a contest we created last year to see who has the cutest pup on the Westside. We are back again this year with the goal of finding the goodest girl or boy with a tail and four legs.

Last year’s winner, Oliver stole our hearts. He went from almost being put down, to going to a foster family...and we know how that one turns out.

Will Oliver go back-to-back? Or will your pup take home the crown?

We will be calling for entries starting the week of March 9th.

There will be 64 entries available and the plan is for their to be a small entry fee to enter your dog, and all of the proceeds will go to an animal shelter voted on by you, Buzz Nation!

Stay tuned and start filling your camera roll with cute photos (as if it isn’t already)

🍽️ Business & Restaurant News

Rosy opens 📍 Hingetown

Opening Day for the Guards. Dingus Day. The first spring day that hits 70 degrees. These are some of the most anticipated days for Clevelanders.

Add last night to the list.

Rosy Restaurant is now officially open and the excitement can be felt far and wide. Vinnie Cimino and Andrew Watts just launched their second concept that looks to capitalize on the success of Cordelia.

Rosy is located at 2912 Church Ave, inside a cozy building tucked a stones throw from Larder and Saucy Brew Works.

The food?

How does Ancestral European sound? I don’t entirely know what that means, but I like it. Think open flames, grandma’s recipes from the homeland, and family style plates that you and your friends will be fighting over.

Rosy will be open 5-10 PM Sunday, Monday, and Thursday | 5-11 PM Friday and Saturday.

Check their website to see why “Everything is coming up Rosy.”

Roman Fountain Closing 📍 Lakewood

After serious reflection (and tens of thousands of pies), Roman Fountain Pizza has officially closed its doors, with its final day of service held on February 19.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the Campbells thanked the community that supported them over the years — from the weekly regulars to the first-timers who quickly became part of the Roman Fountain family. They called serving the neighborhood “one of the greatest parts of our journey” and expressed deep gratitude for every order, kind word, and shared meal.

It’s never easy to say goodbye to a local staple. When I see these types of posts, it’s one of the seldom times I wish it were just AI.

Flour and Bean Art Cafe opens in screw factory 📍 Lakewood

Flour & Bean Art Café just quietly opened inside Studio 1160 at the Screw Factory Artists Lofts.

The owner, Edward, is a French pastry chef — and you can tell. Everything is made fresh in-house. The éclairs? Filled end to end with cream. The sandwiches? Hearty. The bread? From scratch.

And since you’re already at the Screw Factory, take a lap through the building. There’s artwork everywhere from the resident artists, and it makes the whole visit feel like more than just a coffee run.

Open Tuesday–Saturday
7 AM – 6 PM
